Monday, May 11th, 2009
Continuing research and design optimization were reason for a trip to Perry, New York by Dr. Ken Visser of Clarkson University. Dr. Visser’s visit to observe the first residential installation of a WindTamerâ„¢ Turbine in action, as well as review data collected since the turbine’s refined rotor blade installation, will contribute to further enhancements and efficiency optimization. From a pole-mounted anemometer, wind speed and other measures are captured and ported to data collection equipment located in the basement of the residence, from which in-depth analysis provides valuable insight about how the turbine is performing, leading to further optimization.
