WindTamer Corporation announced today that it has completed the installation of two rooftop-mounted 4.5GT WindTamer wind turbines at Carousel Center/Destiny USA.

Rochester, NY, August 31, 2010 – WindTamer Corporation (”WindTamer”) (OTCBB: WNDT-News) announced today that it has completed the installation of two rooftop-mounted 4.5GT WindTamer wind turbines at Carousel Center/Destiny USA, which is located near the intersection of interstate highways I-81 and I-90 in Syracuse, NY. Carousel Center is one of central New York’s premier shopping & entertainment destinations. The turbines are mounted on the southeast & northeast corners of the new three-story, 60-foot tall 1.3 million square foot expansion. The installations were made possible through a federal grant designed to showcase renewable energy technologies.

Destiny USA is designed to be a worldwide model for sustainability through the use of a variety of green technologies, and has been pre-certified at the LEED Gold level, a designation that represents the 2nd highest level of green building practice under the United States Green Building Council’s standards.

The installation marks the first rooftop-mounted installation for WindTamer’s turbines. Each unit is expected to produce up to 3500 kWh per year based on the available wind speed.

“We had a great experience working with WindTamer and their team of engineers through the design, permitting and installation process,” said Melissa Perry, Director of Sustainability for Destiny USA. “The WindTamer turbines will be an excellent demonstration for the successful use of wind as a renewable source of power in urban areas.”

Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Operations for WindTamer said, “David Hofmeister, our lead engineer on this project, did a great job. The team cleared a number of first hurdles for the company, including our first roof-top mount, our highest installed unit to date, new design elements, the smooth and rapid navigation of the permitting process and the development of a maintenance access plan. I remember meeting Mark Matthews, our Vice President of Sales and Marketing, not that long ago in Syracuse and thinking about the challenge of accomplishing a project of this magnitude, a challenge that WindTamer has successfully met through solid team work and execution.”

Mark Matthews said that, “The successful completion of this project is an inkling of what we believe lies ahead for WindTamer in terms of our market opportunity with consumer destinations, big-box retailers and other large commercial structures.”

WindTamer announced today the delivery of a mobile trailer-mounted WindTamer turbine and renewable energy storage unit to the U.S. Army at its Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.

Rochester, NY, August 23, 2010 – WindTamer Corporation (”WindTamer”) (OTCBB: WNDT-News) announced today the delivery of a mobile trailer-mounted WindTamer turbine and renewable energy storage unit to the U.S. Army at its Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. The innovative portable combination turbine and storage unit, which was purchased by the U.S. Army in April 2010, was delivered on August 19 and will be used as a demonstration unit for the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (”RDECOM”). RDECOM is the Army’s largest technology developer and its primary source for research, development and engineering services.

The renewable energy trailer was designed by WindTamer engineers in conjunction with RDECOM to be able to rapidly deploy immediate power to a military user through 100% wind and solar power. The trailer-mounted unit includes a patented WindTamer turbine that is used to provide energy to an onboard storage system. The unit has inputs for solar energy and shore power AC as well as multiple 28VDC and 120 VAC outputs, and has full monitoring capabilities of all energy components (wind, solar and energy storage) as well as monitoring capabilities for wind speed and temperature.

Mark Matthews, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for WindTamer, said, “The mobile WindTamer turbine and wind/solar energy storage unit is being tested for use as an alternative to diesel generators in various military applications. Diesel fuel, especially fuel that must be delivered by the military to remote areas, is extremely expensive, and after transportation costs are factored in, can cost $20 per gallon or more. Our mobile unit would offset that high cost of transportation by generating renewable energy on site. We view military use of our trailer-mounted system as a significant market for WindTamer going forward.”

Michael T. Brundage, Chief, Power Sources Branch, U.S. Army RDECOM said, “The Army is pleased to have taken delivery of WindTamer’s renewable power trailer. We are pleased with the unique design and functionality of the trailer and we look forward to testing the unit and working closely with the fine professional staff at WindTamer.”

About RDECOM
The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) is the Army’s technology leader and largest technology developer. RDECOM ensures the dominance of Army capabilities by creating, integrating and delivering technology-enabled solutions to our Soldiers. To meet this commitment to the Army, RDECOM develops technologies in its eight major laboratories and research, development and engineering centers. It also integrates technologies developed in partnership with an extensive network of academic, industry and international partners.
Executives from WindTamer Corporation, based out of Rochester, NY, toured facilities in Jessup today and plan to visit at least two other locations.

Scranton, Pennsylvania – A wind turbine development company with ties to Northeastern Pennsylvania hopes to build a manufacturing facility in the region by next year, company officials said today.

Executives from WindTamer Corporation, based out of Rochester, NY, toured facilities in Jessup today and plan to visit at least two locations in Wilkes-Barre in the coming weeks.

The hope, according to President and CEO Bill Schmitz, is to bring a full facility to Pennsylvania by January 1, 2011, if not sooner. Schmitz said nearly 400 jobs could be created over the next three years if their projections are accurate.

“As we continue to evolve, we’d like to bring more of the key processes in house. Our thought is that we’d build those key components here,” Schmitz said.

“We think that Scranton is a very good next step for us.”

The company has put nearly 50 different turbines in various locations across the Rochester area and sees small wind turbines, those that produce 100 kilowatts of power or less, as a viable space for commercial, residential and agricultural growth.

“We’re going for the individual, small business owner,” Schmitz said. “This part of Pennsylvania, with the wind coming over the mountains, is perfect.”

One of WindTamer’s original distributors, BCM Green Power Solutions, Inc., is located at 67 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre. CEO Curtis Mattingly said he’s excited to be at the forefront of the technology.

“This is the first product that I’ve seen that makes sense as an alternative energy solution,” Mattingly said. “It really addresses the return for investment that most consumers want.”

BCM recently installed a wind turbine near the Mellow Athletic and Wellness Center on the campus of Marywood University. Marywood Communications Director Juneann Greco said the turbine will provide power for the school’s new Aquatic Center, which is set to open in early 2011.

Another turbine has been sold to the Johnny Rockets restaurant at 5 Radcliffe Dr., Moosic, according to Mattingly and WindTamer consultant Michael Hughes, a Clarks Summit resident.

Schmitz said that small turbines start around $15,000. A larger model costs as much as $30,000.

The turbines can be mounted to rooftops, Cherrie Mahon, vice president of investor relations, added.

Pennsylvania is seen as a primary market for growth, Schmitz said. Additional markets may include the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

“We’re going to follow the wind a bit,” Schmitz said.

There are more and more ways to capture the power of the wind. One company that specializes in this green effort has just relocated to Rochester.

There are more and more ways to capture the power of the wind. One company that specializes in this green effort has just relocated to Rochester. In tonight’s Go Green report, Katrina Irwin shows us WindTamer’s new headquarters. It’s probably not what you picture when you think about a wind turbine. But the people behind this WindTamer say it works just as well and on a smaller scale.

“We developed a smaller unit and scaled it up so it could apply for small businesses and homeowners, things like that,” says Mark Matthews, VP of Sales and Marketing at WindTamer. This is an example of a portable wind turbine. WindTamer hopes the military will use this as a way to power troops in the battlefield. But that’s not the only type of field these can be used in. Last year we showed you how some farmers are also using these machines to save.

“People are very cognizant being green and what is means to be green but also their understanding that they want to do it in an economical fashion. So we focus very highly on return on investment but also the value of having green energies and reducing reliance on fossil fuels,” says Matthews. Previously WindTamer was headquartered in Livingston County, but just moved to Rochester in order to expand.

“We did the move to be closer to Rochester, have access to the workforce and also to be able to get involved with a lot of the local businesses in Rochester,” says Matthews. They are still setting up shop on Mt. Read Boulevard. And they hope their message will be heard here. “The message to people have become a lot clearer. Business and residence owners understand the value of what can be offered through wind and solar and it doesn’t seem to be such a hard concept for them to understand anymore,” says Matthews.

WindTamer Corporation announced that Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Operations, has assumed responsibility for the development of its wind turbine technology.

Rochester, New York (Marketwire – 5/19/10) – WindTamer Corporation (“WindTamer” or the “Company”) (OTC:BB:WNDT-News), a developer and manufacturer of a patented new wind turbine technology, announced that Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Operations, has assumed responsibility for the development of its wind turbine technology from Gerald E. Brock, the Company’s founder and inventor of the WindTamer technology.

William A. Schmitz, Chief Executive Officer of WindTamer Corporation, said that, “The decision of the Board of Directors and me to no longer have Mr. Brock head the research and development of the Company was the result of a difference of opinion over how to best address performance issues of the WindTamer turbines that have been installed and are operating in the field. It has recently become apparent to management that the turbines installed to date are not performing to product specifications, and we felt that a shift from Mr. Brock’s inventive approach to a more analytical approach was the best way to improve the technology so that it performs at the levels that we believe possible. Moving forward, Adeeb Saba will lead a team of engineers and has begun a systematic, data-driven process to determine how to optimize the energy output of the turbines to bring the performance back in line to the performance levels achieved during the development phase.”

“There is a difference between inventing a new technology and designing a systematic engineered energy solution that can be mass-produced,” said Mr. Saba. “Based on the early prototype performance validations by Dr. Ken Visser, Associate Professor of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering of Clarkson University, the WindTamer turbine is a breakthrough turbine technology. However, a total systems solution approach must be taken in order to fully maximize the annual energy output. I have already initiated this process and I have every confidence it will enable us to maximize the performance of our turbines.”

Mr. Saba continued “As an energy system, the WindTamer turbine needs to leverage the strengths of the system components, including the turbine, generator, inverter and controls. The optimal combination of variables can best be determined through a rigorous data-based testing process. As one of our major efforts, we plan to utilize proven Shainin design of experiments methodologies to more accurately understand the significance of and interactions between the various design parameters. I have successfully led similarly complex product and process development programs in the past such as the design of the Land Warrior Power System launched by the U.S. Army in 2007 as well as several plating, coating, and electronic projects, and I am confident that I can do it again here at WindTamer.”

Mr. Schmitz also said that Dr. Visser continues to be engaged with WindTamer to assist in maximizing the WindTamer turbine performance. Dr. Visser stated “I have been completely engaged with Adeeb Saba and his engineering team in this new data-based analysis and I have been very impressed with their approach during my work with them. I look forward to continuing to work with Adeeb and his team to continue to optimize the WindTamer technology in a scientific and efficient manner.”

Mr. Brock was notified on May 16, 2010, that his employment and Employment Agreement with the Company will be terminated for good cause effective June 15, 2010. The Company’s Board of Directors approved and ratified the termination on May 17, 2010. Mr. Brock was terminated due to his willful disobedience of material and lawful instructions of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Brock will continue to serve as a director of the Company.

Separately, the Company announced that Molly Hedges, the Company’s Vice President of Finance, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, has been appointed as acting Chief Financial Officer and Principal Financial Officer, positions previously held by Mr. Brock. Mr. Schmitz said “we are pleased that Molly Hedges has assumed the additional responsibilities of acting Chief Financial Officer and Principal Financial Officer, and I look forward to working with her in this expanded role.”

WindTamer Corporation announced today that it has entered into a loan agreement with First Niagara Bank, N.A. for a $1 million secured revolving line of credit.

(Rochester, NY – April 27, 2010) – WindTamer Corporation (”WindTamer” or “The Company”) (OTC:BB:WNDT-News) announced today that it has entered into a loan agreement (the “Loan Agreement”) with First Niagara Bank, N.A. for a $1 million secured revolving line of credit (the “Line of Credit”).

The Line of Credit is available until May 1, 2011 with variable rate of interest at the Prime Rate subject to a floor of 3.25%. The Company may borrow and repay any principal amounts drawn on the Line of Credit during this period.

The Line of Credit is being guaranteed by certain members of WindTamer’s management and one of its principal stockholders. As part of the guaranty, WindTamer’s Chairman of the Board and founder Gerald E. Brock has agreed to pledge 20 million of his shares of stock to the guarantors in exchange for 6,000,000 warrants, with each warrant entitling him to purchase one share of WindTamer common stock at the April 26, 2010 closing price of $0.25 per share. WindTamer will issue an additional 23,000,000 warrants under the same terms to the guarantors of the loan.

Separately, Mr. Brock has agreed to assign to the company for retirement 29,050,000 shares of WindTamer common stock. As a result of the agreement, WindTamer’s outstanding shares will decline from 115.5 million to 86.4 million.

William A. Schmitz, Chief Executive Officer of WindTamer, said that, “This financing agreement allows WindTamer to establish a banking relationship with a strong community-oriented bank that is committed to helping our regional economy expand. We anticipate our relationship with First Niagara will grow as WindTamer grows. This agreement also benefits WindTamer stockholders in another important way, because it significantly reduces the number of outstanding shares. If and when the newly issued warrants are exercised the number of outstanding shares would return to previous levels, but this would be accompanied by an infusion of $7.25 million into the company through the exercise of the warrants. We believe this agreement makes WindTamer’s capital structure more attractive to investors, and the Company thanks Chairman and Founder Gerald E. Brock for his participation in this agreement and for his willingness to retire a significant portion of his shares.”
